The painting of my Carthaginian units is slowing a bit as the 22nd unit of this army is on the painting table for basing. To change things up I have a Necromunda gang to paint, they were a birthday present from my daughter and have been sitting on the shelf for a while. This will give me a bit of a break before returning to finish the final few Carthaginian units and then start on the Romans.

ReplyDeleteInteresting choice to do all of one side then all of the other. I usually do a few of each in turn so I can have a small skirmish to inspire me to keep painting.
Somewhat unintentional, I had washed all the Carthaginian figures and popped them in a box and then just started painting them. The Romans are yet to come out of their boxes.
DeleteSometimes you just need a short break and a change to push a project over the line. 22 units to date is impressive.

DeleteWith nice paint jobs like those shields it's no wonder the painting is slowing - still looks like very fast progress to me!
ReplyDeleteI tend to save the shield designs until last and you don't mind putting in that extra bit of effort as each shield painted is a completed figure.
DeleteA change is as good as a rest Peter, which is why I have a few projects on the go, to try and keep the motivation up. The Ancients figures looking really good and look forward to seeing the Romans when they're out of their boxes.
