A couple of Medieval units get painted

Not much to post this weekend as I am away in Wellington, New Zealand, visiting my daughter for a week. Here is a single picture of some secondhand Minifigs units I recently completed after cleaning them up with paint stripper. I had to wait to complete their bases while an order of some scatter to arrived to complete the bases.

  3. Those are very nice and take me back to the 1970's when we had but a few of these figures. They have a certain charm which I love.

  4. Very nice your units look grand, I like Minifigs although I only own about half a dozen medieval chaps that I bought on a day out in York when I was about 16. The local model shops only ever stocked Hinchliffe and Garrison.

    1. Thank you. I like basing figures in groups of 10-12 figures. The homemade bases are 4x3 inches painted green. Regards, Peter

    2. I like the scatter you used. I have been thinking about how to base 40mm old school tin soldiers and think this might be a good idea. What material did you use? Regards, Karl

    3. I use a combination of mid green and mid brown scatter mixed together in a tub so I can put the whole base in. The scatter is not the fine mix, but a semi course mix. I find the brown helps lightens the look. I stick on with PVA glue, the once dry apply a watered down PVA wash to hold in place.

    4. I would like to try making a base like that. I really like how it looks. May I ask which company the scatter is from? Maybe I can find a shop in Berlin that sells it.

    1. I had a quick look online for images of these figures. All the Minifigs have a nice consistent look about them.

  8. I feel like it's not even worth getting out the background just for 1 pic... but the miniatures look good.
    I've never even SEEN a minifig....😁

    1. Thank you. The background was already in place from the last game on the tabletop.
