Ancients project

The painting of my Carthaginian units is slowing a bit as the 22nd unit of this army is on the painting table for basing. To change things up I have a Necromunda gang to paint, they were a birthday present from my daughter and have been sitting on the shelf for a while. This will give me a bit of a break before returning to finish the final few Carthaginian units and then start on the Romans.

Some heavy cavalry completed at the weekend.

Some Celtic infantry ready for basing

Next up for building and painting

    1. Thanks. Hopefully the Christmas break may afford some more painting time so I get a head start on the Romans.

  2. They look good!

Interesting choice to do all of one side then all of the other. I usually do a few of each in turn so I can have a small skirmish to inspire me to keep painting.

    1. Somewhat unintentional, I had washed all the Carthaginian figures and popped them in a box and then just started painting them. The Romans are yet to come out of their boxes.

  3. Sometimes you just need a short break and a change to push a project over the line. 22 units to date is impressive.

    1. Agree, I use my little stash of W40K and Necromunda as a back burner project for these times.

  5. With nice paint jobs like those shields it's no wonder the painting is slowing - still looks like very fast progress to me!

    1. I tend to save the shield designs until last and you don't mind putting in that extra bit of effort as each shield painted is a completed figure.

  6. A change is as good as a rest Peter, which is why I have a few projects on the go, to try and keep the motivation up. The Ancients figures looking really good and look forward to seeing the Romans when they're out of their boxes.

    1. Thanks. I hope to be starting on the Romans soon and I estimate another three months to get to a stage of completion.
