Just over a week ago I took the opportunity to buy the Airfix Battles game which as on sale. It was a game I have thought about buying in the past when it first came out, but just never got around to doing anything about it. It turned up on my doorstep less than ten days after ordering if from the UK which was a very nice surprise.
My latest purchase. |
It is now on my list of games to play along with Zombicide, now that I have painted all the miniatures for the game, and also I must not forget the next turn of my Ancients campaign to see it the tide has turned for the Romans. Although at the moment I do have a ACW game on the tabletop which should be cleared by the weekend.
ACW game in progress on the tabletop |
It's a good little game. Well worth your time. Alas, it requires figures and models Airfix do not make.
ReplyDeleteI do like the look of the activation system after a first read of the rules. I was surprised that they did not have more units aligned with the model kits. Anyway, I will just use the models I have available.
DeleteWhy, an ACW Game. More of a title than a question... ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhy an ACW game? Getting some photos for what will hopefully be a publishable article for Lone Warrior about orders and solo wargaming.
DeleteSorry, not a question but a rather lame attempt at humour prompted by the road layout in the photo.
DeleteLol - totally missed that one.
DeleteJolly good Peter, Airfix Battles is a fun game, not terribly historical but good fun.
ReplyDeleteYour ACW game looks smashing.
Regards,
Paul.
Thanks. I am looking forward to playing a game.
DeleteI look forward to seeing what you do with the Airfix battles and what comes in the box. 10 days is very fast to get to your side of the World. On our side the post has been erratic and none at all today, possibly due to torrential rain all day. As I have some items on the way I can't wait for them to arrive!
ReplyDeleteThe game you have set up looks good and will be interested to find out how it played out.
I will be attempting to use the tabletop and models with Airfix Battles. As the for speed of arrival, I was so surprised as I had set my expectations to after Christmas. I may loop back on the ACW game in the future, it is setup mainly for some photos to be included in what will hopefully be a possible article for Lone Warrior.
DeleteI'll look forward to what you do with the Airfix Battles—I see that there is one for sale in St Albans Park, not you, I trust?!
ReplyDeleteAs Paul noted, that American Civil War game looks beaut.
Regards, James
The game is still safely packed up and awaiting to be played this Christmas holidays. The ACW game it was a chance to get some of my 15mm Minifigs out for a quick game. Thanks.
