French Indian War project - units progressing

Over the recent long weekend here in Melbourne. I was able to complete a couple of Grenadier units started during the week, and also paint up all my available Indian units. They are all old Spencer Smith plastic miniatures, but I am not sure how old though.

I am continuing with a very simple painting style for all of the units. No shading or highlighting, just the basic colours and swipe of paint to show straps and belts. All very toy soldier-ish and glossy.

Tonight I started my Imagi-Nations 19th century campaign. The opening battle between Greater Novia and Ustroria is underway. The outcome is yet to be decided.

    1. I was not sure how the Indians were going to come out. Almost until the end I was looking at them thinking this is not going to workout. Then once completed and shinny it all came good.

  3. I do like your indians; which has inspired me to rummage through my old collection and do something with the bag of plastics that I have had for decades. By coincidence I have been rebasing my Spencer Smith collection with an idea of refighting Bunker hill. Thanks for the further inspiration as your troops look great on the table.

    1. Thank you for your kind comments. I have been surprised at how enjoyable it has been to paint up these old figures simply and quickly. While not my best painted models, and I do have to stop myself sometimes from going back and trying to tidy up the painting, they still end up look splendid on the tabletop. Good luck with your Bunker Hill project and progressing with the old plastic figures.

    1. Thank you Phil. My photos can be a bit hit or miss sometimes (I use my phone camera) but these do look very sunny and bright.

    1. Thanks. I have really enjoyed getting these quite traditional looking figures painted and on to the tabletop for a game.
