Hi Peter,
ReplyDeleteGreat Battle Report - super photos supported by your excellent hand drawn Battle Maps...most enjoyable- and glad to see your enjoying the fruits of your miniature painting for the ECW. Cheers. KEV.
Thanks KEV. I am having a lot of fun with the ECW campaign and always enjoy getting the Hinchliffe armies on the tabletop. Cheers, Peter
DeleteThe end seemed almost inevitable given the way the campaign season began and the first day's fight but it was a valiant stand anyway.
ReplyDeleteI did think at one point the Royalists might salvage a draw, but it was not to be.
DeleteNice looking game Peter, lovely terrain!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Most of the terrain is scratch built with the exception of half the trees.
DeleteNo surprise with respect to the battle outcome but the table and map sure look great!
ReplyDeleteYes, the result was predictable, but victory still had to be earned by Parliament. A fun game to play.
DeleteA good try by the King's men, but they needed more than a bit of luck to avoid a loss, and it was not to be!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly provided a valiant defence, but a win was never on the cards after losing the bulk of their cavalry on day 1.
DeleteAnother great report. I'm really enjoying following this campaign.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am looking forward to finding out how the chance cards workout for the 1643 campaign year.
